Stove Maintenance - Rope seal

Rope seals will need replacing during your stove’s lifetime. It is important to check them at least annually to see if the seal is worn or broken.

To test the effectiveness of your rope seal do the paper test. When the stove is cold trap a piece of paper between the door and the stove body. Try and pull the piece of paper out. You should feel resistance or the paper is trapped. Repeat this on each edge. If the paper comes out, replace the rope seal.
